Fall is on the way, and it’s time to start thinking about the flavors and scents that really say autumn. For me, vanilla latte screams fall, and I recently tried a really easy recipe that I wanted to share with you. In case you’ve never had one before, this is how to make an iced coffee float.
Thanks to SheSpeaks/Febreze for sponsoring this post today.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz brewed coffee, chilled (somewhere between cold and warm is great)
- 1-2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- a dash of cinnamon
To Make:
- Make sure your favorite cup of brewed coffee is cool enough. If it is too hot, it will immediately melt your ice cream. I like mine cold!
- Scoop 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a glass or mug. With this recipe, I was able to make two floats with 1 large scoop of ice cream in each.
- Sprinkle the top with a dash of cinnamon. Nutmeg would be another good option, or apple pie or pumpkin pie spice would work, too.
- Enjoy your delicious treat! Plop a straw or tea spoon in, and enjoy.
Febreze sent me tons of great activities, recipes, and ideas on how to get my home ready for fall, and this one immediately spoke to me! I love floats, and I love the seasonal twist with this one. I have adapted the recipe a bit to my own tastes, and I hope you love it! Iced coffee floats feel indulgent, and they would make a great dessert for guests.
Fun variations and ideas to try:
- Use chai tea instead of coffee.
- Use your favorite flavor of ice cream instead of vanilla. Pumpkin pie flavor is a great one and is so delicious!
- Drizzle caramel sauce or chocolate syrup in your glass before putting the ice cream and coffee in.
What scents remind you of of fall?
What about the creamy scent of Toasted Almond? Maybe it’s the sweet smell of Sugared Cranberry or Spiced Pear. For me, I just love Vanilla Latte and Autumn Harvest.
How do YOU use scents to help make your home fall-ready?
