If you’ve been looking for a fully-loaded, ultra-comfortable, do it all vehicle for your family, you have got to try out the 2015 Kia Sedona SX-L. It is a family vehicle (okay, a minivan) for today’s on-the-go lifestyle with so many fancy features that come standard.

My family loved trying this van out so I could review it on the blog. My 3 year old was especially sad to give it back, saying, “Me yuvs ours byack van!” He asks about it at least once a week. All of the kids are ready to trade our current vehicle in to upgrade to this baby.

Since my family is larger, it is obviously important to have enough seating for everyone. Beyond that, comfort is a huge consideration. We have to accommodate car seats and boosters as well as people, so it’s usually a pretty tight squeeze in any vehicle.
The KIA Sedona felt so roomy. We were able to adjust the seats so that there was plenty of room for everyone as if the configuration was specifically catered to our family. I have 2 kids that rear face in their car seats. It can be a challenge to still have room in the vehicle since that creates awkward angles, but by moving the seats around, we were able to create more room for everyone and keep those little kids safe because the car seats had enough clearance where they didn’t touch the seats in front of them.
The middle row’s seats are easy to move around front to back and side to side to help achieve the perfect fit for my kids.

They even have foot rests if you want to use them! While it wouldn’t work for my car seat kids, it would be heaven-sent for an adult or teen on a long road trip, longing to put their feet up.

My favorite features on the 2015 Kia Sedona SX-L were the 360 degree cameras, assisting in parking and backing up, built in navigation system, blind spot indicator, and USB charging ports. I also loved that there were charging ports for the back seat.

I enjoyed the heated and cooled front seats. The heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators were awesome as well.
My kids’ favorite feature had to be the dual sunroofs, which is something that I was surprised to learn actually comes standard.

There are a lot of great safety features, such as dual front airbags, full-length side curtain airbags for all 3 rows, front seat-mounted side air bags, LATCH system, Anti-Lock brakes, Electronic Stability Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and more.
The fuel economy on this vehicle is right about what you would expect. It gets about 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. We got about 17.8 as our average, which was about what I expected since we mostly drove in regular city traffic.

The only real beef I had with this vehicle was that the middle seat in the third row was very narrow. I was able to let my 10 year old daughter sit there, as she was able to pass the 5-point test to get out of a booster in this van. However, I was unable to fit even my most trim booster in this seat (the Bubblebum). This is something to consider if you are wanting to purchase this vehicle and have several little people on board.

Here is my 32 pound 3 year old modeling the space. No, I didn’t let him really ride in the vehicle this way!

Final Thoughts
Overall, I was very impressed with the 2015 Kia Sedona SX-L. It runs so smoothly and quietly. It has terrific field of sight, with far fewer actual blind spot areas than the vehicle I normally drive. It has tons of bells and whistles that come staandard. There is plenty of space for hauling things around in the spacious trunk. In short, I wish we could have kept this vehicle!

If you’re in the market for a new vehicle for your family, you should really put the 2015 Kia Sedona SX-L on your short list.
