When I think of S’mores, I think of the ooey gooey mixture of melted marshmallows and chocolate with the nice little crunch from the graham crackers. I remember making these around the campfire in scouts, and insisted that I get to make them at home, too. That’s when I discovered the magical world of indoor S’mores-making. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Let’s Make S’mores Tonight
This quick and easy summertime treat is a breeze to make, and is the perfect way to make any night a S’mores night, even indoors! That’s right, you don’t even need a campfire to make this delicious dessert with the classic flavors you grew up with.
I planned on having a movie night with my family last weekend, and I knew that would be the perfect occasion to make this recipe. After a day of playing outside in the summer heat, it can be so nice to just crank up the air conditioner and enjoy some together time indoors.
To get ready for our big night, I picked up my supplies at my local Walmart. They in the center of the wide space right between the breakfast meats and baking supplies. Look at this adorable display! Most of my ingredients were right there, all together. I got my Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars (sold in 6pk at Walmart), Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares (exclusively at Walmart), and Kraft’s Jet Puffed Marshmallows.
When I got to the register, the cashier smiled this huge grin and said, “Looks like it’s S’mores tonight for you guys, right?” Oh yes, she was so right!
When making S’mores treats, it is imperative to have the core components. Here they are, in all of their glory. Yum.
Not that the original was lacking anything, but I wanted to put a twist on the classic S’mores recipe, so I got a few more of my favorite dessert ingredients to really get this movie party started.
S’mores Summer Parfait Recipe
This recipe makes one parfait. Split it, or mix up the pudding flavors and customize one for each person!
Ingredients:
- 4 Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares
- 1/2 of a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar (and a little more for garnish, if you’d like)
- 2 Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows
- 1 JELL-O Pudding cup, divided (I used sugar free chocolate)
- 4 Tbsp Cool Whip, divided (I used Lite)
To Make:
- In 2 microwave-safe bowls or cups, crumble one graham cracker square into each.
- Top the graham cracker crumbs with 1/4 of a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar each.
- Place a single marshmallow on top of the chocolate pieces, one per bowl or cup.
- Microwave one of the cups for about 15 seconds, just long enough to make the marshmallow puff up and the chocolate melt.
- Crumble another graham cracker square on top of the melted marshmallow.
- Spoon half of the JELL-O Pudding over the graham cracker crumbs.
- Top the pudding with 2 Tbsp of Cool Whip and gently smooth the top.
- Microwave your second bowl/cup for 15 seconds and gently pour the mixture into the first container. (Be careful handling this as it is very hot.)
- Layer the remaining pudding and Cool Whip on top.
- Crumble your last graham cracker square over the Cool Whip and garnish with more of your Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar if you wish.
- ENJOY your delicious S’mores Summer Parfait.
Movie night was a huge success. My favorite part was the dessert, of course!
