Just when you thought hot dogs couldn’t get any better, bacon and cheese just joined the party. Move over plain hot dogs, we’ve got a cheesy, bacony upgrade for you. You won’t believe how good these taste, and they are made right in the oven!
Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs
Ingredients
8 pieces of bacon
8 hot dogs
½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese
8 hot dog buns
You will also need aluminum foil, paper towels and toothpicks.
To Make:
1. Line two baking pans with foil and set one aside. Place the bacon on the foil and put them in the oven at 400 degrees. Do not preheat the oven. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until it is just starting to crisp.
2. While the bacon is cooking, cut a lengthwise slit about ¾ through the hot dog wieners, without slicing through the ends. Stuff each one with about 1 tbsp. of the shredded cheese.
3. Take the bacon out of the oven and let it sit for a few minutes until it’s cool enough to handle, then using a paper towel absorb the grease from the slices. Starting at one end, wrap a slice around each hot dog. Secure the bacon ends to the hot dogs using toothpicks. Place the bacon wrapped hot dogs on the clean foil lined pan.
4. Place the hot dogs back in the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes, checking every few minutes until the bacon is cooked, the cheese is melted and the hot dogs are browned.
5. Remove from oven, take out toothpicks and serve on hot dog buns. Yum!
