If you’re looking for a quick and easy holiday appetizer, try these easy cheesy sausage balls. We always have a ton of Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese in our refrigerator, so I love incorporating it into tasty dishes. This warm comfort food is very simple to whip up and is always a true crowd-pleaser.
With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, I always think about which recipes I will bring with me to family gatherings, office parties, playdates, or holiday parties with friends.
Sausage balls have long-time been a favorite at my family’s get-togethers. I started making them about 9 years ago, but always included some kind of flour element to it. I wanted to make a recipe that just focused on the real stars of the dish, the cheese and the meat.
This recipe is very forgiving, which is another reason why I love it. I like to throw in a little bit of this and a little bit of that as I go, which is easy to do here. Feel free to season to your liking. Some sausage already contains plenty of spice and salt, while other might require a bit more creativity. The best part is that everyone will love the end result.
In just 5 easy steps, you can create your own new holiday tradition with easy, cheesy sausage balls.
Easy Cheesy Sausage Balls
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 lb tubed breakfast sausage
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or you could use a 2nd tube of breakfast sausage)
- 3 cups Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese (I used cheddar)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
TO MAKE:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Combine all ingredients together, by hand, in a large bowl.
3. Form the meat and cheese mixture into balls, about 1 1/2″ in size. Place on nonstick cookie sheets with at least some spacing between them.
4. Bake for 13-17 minutes.
5. Remove finished sausage balls and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate before serving. Enjoy!
We love to eat these as a hearty breakfast food, as well. They reheat well if you happen to have any leftovers.
Don’t be surprised if you make this dish for a holiday gathering and people ask you for the recipe. Not only that, but your family, friends, or coworkers will probably expect you to bring it to all future parties and events!
We picked up our Kraft Natural Shredded Cheese, as well as the other ingredients, at our local Wal-Mart. It’s located in the outer edge of the store, near the lunch meat and milk.
Are you a cheese-lover, too?
I’d love to hear your favorite cheesy dish. Don’t forget to check out more tasty Kraft recipes, and even find some coupons!
