Saturday was sooo super fun for me as I was graciously invited to a Blogger Walk Around at Premium Outlets in Allen, TX. Not only did I get to learn some great shopping tips, hear all about great discounts available, find out the latest and greatest fashions this season from Banana Republic, and get a demonstration on efficient summer packing from Samsonite, but I also got to meet 11 other area bloggers AND got to eat lunch with the great folks of Premium Outlets.
If you’ve never been outlet shopping before, you have REALLY been missing out. Many stores have items up to 75% off of retail prices. Not only that, but there are so many coupons and deals that can be stacked on top of that. More on that in a bit.
Before I get into anything else, let me share some shopping tips with you that Penny, General Manager at Allen’s Premium Outlets and Robyne, the Vice President of Marketing, suggested to us.
Tips for Shopping at Premium Outlets:
- Wear comfortable clothing to shop in. This is particularly important if you’re buying for yourself and will need to sleep your clothes on and off in the dressing room!
- Wear very comfortable shoes with good support so you stay comfy while trekking to and from each store as this place is vast and you’ll be getting in a lot of steps! (Great for folks into exercise. Time to power walk AND shop at the same time.)
- Use a cross-body purse so that you’re hands free with your wallet and keys securely against you.
- Go online prior to shopping so you can view and print out a map of the center with a store listing. This will help you decide which stores are a MUST to hit up while you are there and will save you time.
- Another way to save time AND money on your shopping trip is to print out some valuable coupons before your visit! Join the VIP Shopper Club for the latest and greatest deals and also print out a coupon redeemable for an ADDITIONAL free VIP Coupon Book when you arrive! (Pick it up at the Information Center when you get there.) The coupons on the website change frequently, so you can always check back and print just the ones you want. Big sales are often listed there as well.

Not only did Patrick wow us with the quality and durability of the Samsonite luggage, he showed us several accessories that will help anyone to stuff a bag with a ridiculous amount of items. Want to pack for a whole weekend in just a single carry on? NO problem! They sold travel cubes that help you to fold your outfits super thin and flat (like when you buy them at the store) and stack up to 12 garments all within this vinyl case that fastens shut. It shrinks the amount of space you need to take outfits for sure!
Another item that I loved was the Go Toob. It holds exactly the approved amount of liquid for your toiletries and is made of a flexible material so that if it’s in a checked bag and isn’t in a pressure controlled environment, it won’t explode and spill onto the contents of your bag! Not only that, but the lid has to be forced open, so it can’t accidentally pinch open or pop open while being shuffled in your luggage. It even has a handy suction so it can stick to the mirror once you arrive at your destination! Pretty cool stuff.

After the presentation at Samsonite, we were let loose to go shopping! We were armed with a $50 gift card to get us started and several of the stores offered terrific blogger incentives for the day.
Columbia Sportswear gave us a $15 gift card for use during the event, so I decided to check in there first to see if I could find something for my hubby for Father’s Day. They had some incredible sales going on! I saw sportswear on clearance for under $5 and then it was an extra 50% off of the lowest marked price! That’s insanely cheap for some high quality fitness clothing for sure. I ended up getting a pair of sneakers for my hubby. Regularly $120, they were marked 70% OFF! $36 for a pair of sneakers for my hubby was an amazing deal and with the $15 gift card the store handed out and the $50 gift card to this Premium Outlet, I got a killer deal!

I also got some little swag bags from merchants at the Premium Outlets. Vitamin World gave us a bottle of water, a Detour protein bar, a magazine, some Vitamin A cream, and some literature about getting to and staying in optimal health. We also had a lengthy discussion about coconut oil and I gave the girls some of my best tips on how to use it. I will have to blog about this topic again soon to share my ideas with others!

I also stopped by White House Black Market to check out their deals. They had the most adorable embellished shirts and buy one get one shorts! They gave the participating bloggers a sweet little goody bag, too! They might be my BFFs now. 😉

I also headed over to Kitchen Collection to pick up a present for my mom’s birthday. I got her this cute little cow ice cream scoop and the little Green Pan. I looooove those pans and we talked with the manager of the store all about the quality, durability, and care of the line of pans. She also told us that they sell refurbished KitchenAid mixers at up to 25% off of the retail cost! They are one of the few stores in the country authorized to sell them and they come with a 6 month warranty. I may have to buy myself a little Christmas present toward the end of the year at this store. 😉

Here’s just a small sampling of all the coupons and goodies we got for our Blogger Walk Around from Premium Outlets:

I also hit up New York & Company and got myself 3 new shirts! They had given us a $25 off any purchase coupon and my total before tax was $25.97, so I ended up paying just $1.06 out of pocket! SCORE!

I am so thankful for the opportunity to participate in this event. More importantly, I got a chance to see first-hand the kind of amazing deals that can be had by outlet shopping. I was so excited to see that these stores were stuffed with items for THIS year’s fashions for THIS season! Gone are the days of outlet shopping for last season’s leftovers – these stores are full of fresh, hot clothes and items that can be worn or used right now! 🙂
Connect with Premium Outlets on Facebook and Twitter, too!
Want to check out the blogs of the other lovely ladies that also hit up the event?
Great meeting you and Mr. Charlie. Can’t wait to hear more coconut oil tips 🙂
