I was thrilled to win a contest from North Texas Kids magazine for tickets to the New Year’s Eve event at This Side Up! Family Fun Center. The tickets and the raffle tickets we got for free were worth over $60!! WOOHOO!
The event was a lot of fun. We entered a few raffles (no win this year!), had our picture taken by a local photographer, and DD got her face painted.
Then we were treated to dinner, catered by Macaroni Grill and Chick-fil-a. YUM! I think everyone was able to find something tasty to fill up their tummies, for sure. A local news guy was the evening’s emcee and that was fun as well. We watched a video about 9-1-1 and how and when to call – AND we even got to meet McGruff the Crime Dog! 😉 Super neat.
NEXT, we watched Keith Coast. I see from his website that he’s a Christian performer and he mentioned that he travels around the world with his show. For this particular show, he was an excellent magician and comedian for the kiddos. They LOVED his tricks with a Coke bottle, balloon animal, red clown noses, and some funny quirky games he had the kids (and adults!) play for some fun prizes. He also had a GREAT trick of actually fitting his whole body in a balloon!

Everyone was mesmerized and loved this grand finale trick. It was perfect entertainment for my three kiddos!!
I don’t know what was more fun – the show…or watching my kids CRACK UP! This is the most I’ve seen them laugh in fooooorever!
Then we counted down to “midnight” – which was really 9pm. They even changed all the clocks in the facility to 3 hours ahead so we could “see” it was midnight. Super neat!
