My kids and I had a blast at a live California Raisins event. We got to sample some yummy treats that all incorporated the juicy, healthy goodness of raisins. Not only that, but we were able to play with some friends and even meet a real California Raisin! Thank you to California Raisins for sponsoring this discussion about one of our favorite snacks.

Raisins Taste Great and are Great for You!
Raisins are naturally sweet, with no sugar or other sweeteners needed. They add a pop of flavor in a portable, low calorie punch. They’re great for ants on a log (celery, nut or nut-free butter, and sprinkles of raisins on top), in fruit salads, on strawberry cream cheese sandwiches, as a green salad topping, and so much more.
Raisins are great for an on-the-go snack, and also make a really nice lunchbox addition. Did you know that raisins provide 9% of your daily fiber and potassium, and 6% of your daily iron in each 1/4 cup serving? They’re naturally fat and cholesterol free. I love that raisins are an excellent value, too, as they’re the least expensive dried fruit according to the USDA.

Find out more about and check out all of their amazing recipes, too! I checked it out and was amazed to see all of the delicious new recipes to try, including unexpected things like soups and salad dressings. They even have a great collection of gluten free recipes as well.

You can also connect with California Raisins on Facebook, where you can sign up to receive a California Raisins prize pack! Limited supply; while quantities last. Go to the section that says Limited Edition Giveaway to enter your mailing information.
