Okay, so being a stay at home mom (and homeschooler to boot) is a really exhausting job. I think I’ve covered that before. 😉 Many of you know exactly because it describes you too!
So someone recently asked me what a “good day” or a “perfect day” is for me.
I’d have to say that a perfect day is one where the entire family wakes up in a good mood. Yes, I’m stretching it here already. Hey, it’s MY “good day”! 😉
Anyway, everyone wakes up in a good mood, we enjoy breakfast together and I quickly get the dishes done and the kids volunteer to clean the table… Everybody gets ready for the day (and no poopy diapers from the baby. That’d be part of this good day.). Then, maybe we’d have a playdate to go to so the kids could interact with others and I could talk to other grown ups for a bit…
We’d leave the playdate after lunch (I’m not specifying whether we’d eat fast food at a playdate or have taken a lunch – that kind of detail isn’t important to my good day). No one would whine or cry, but the baby would fall asleep on the way home.
The big kids and I would do school when we got home and while the baby slept. Then everyone would get a small snack (this is when the baby would probably wake up and snack too) and then the kids would play, read books, or have little races around the house. 🙂 I’d get dinner started while the kids kept themselves busy.
Hubby would get home, we’d all eat together and the kids would eat without too much fuss… after dinner, a friend would call me up and ask to meet up at Starbucks or Denny’s around 9 or 9:30. I’d agree because my hubby is awesome and doesn’t mind (he really is and really doesn’t!).
I’d get the kids a bath, maybe read and play a little more, get them ready for bed and put them down around 8 or so. Then I’d spend a little time with the hubby and go out with my friend for a bit.
When I got back, I’d watch a show with hubby or just chit chat with him until around midnight, and off to bed we’d go!
That kind of day sounds practical and just about perfect to me. 🙂
What is your perfect day or a “good day” for you?

That definitely sounds like a good day to me! I’d even be up for the Starbucks visit… I might have to make a trip of it with some friends one of these days when it’s not snowy! 🙂
