I can’t believe this little guy is 4 months old!
He still wants to be held all.the.time, but he’s so darn cheerful as long as he is held. This is quite a problem when it comes to being productive. On the other hand, it won’t last forever, and I’ll never get this time back.
Ethan is 19 pounds and 25.75″ long. He has never once kept us up at night for any reason. He usually falls asleep in one of our arms around 9 or 10 and then nurses and gets a new diaper when we go to bed (around midnight most nights) and sleeps until at least 8 the next morning. Sometimes he will nurse around 8 or 9 and sleep again until 10:30 or 11. I love when we have nothing planned so he can sleep as much as he wants. 😉
He loves to grin with his whole face. He is also ticklish, especially on his sides, back, and feet. He laughs several times a day. Ethan is a total charmer.
His grip has gotten really good. He can hold tight to a rattle for quite some time and likes to chew on the squishy end of one that we have. I don’t know if he’s in the early stages of teething or what, but he’s a drool master.
If you hang on to his hands, he likes to sit up and stand up. He likes to be sung to and peekaboo makes him laugh.
Daddy might possibly be his favorite person. Ross can hold him for hours and Ethan loves it. He always gives Daddy his full attention when he hears his voice.
The kids still just love him. Charlie insists on hugging Ethan a lot and gives him big, juicy kisses on the cheek. Heath always wants to hold him and likes trying to make Ethan smile. Michael makes Ethan squeal with excitement. I think he likes his braces! Grace is like his second mommy (minus feeding and changing him) and dances with him, sings with him, and carries him around quite a bit.
Of course, he loves me too. I can’t help but kiss his sweet head and face all day long. He is so soft and squishy and precious. He’s such a big guy that I find myself trying to feed him (but not really getting that far – mainly just sort of reaching for it and then remembering he is LITTLE!). We’ll hold off on solids until at least 6 months, though.
As far as ME, I am feeling fairly normal and like “me” again. I have been working on losing baby weight since January and I’m only 13 pounds away from prepregnancy weight and about 23 pounds away from what I would ideally like to be.
One of these days, I’ll get there! That’s the bummer about gaining 50+ pounds while pregnant. 🙂
