Everyone loves to take some time out for themselves to relax and unwind. A great place for folks in the DFW area to go to do that is Massage Envy. What if I told you that you could take care of yourself and support the Arthritis Foundation?
Massage Envy joins forces with the Arthritis Foundation to host Healing Hands for Arthritis, a one-day national event to build awareness and raise funds to fight arthritis. On September 19, 2012, Massage Envy DFW clinics will donate $10 from every one-hour massage session or facial to the Arthritis Foundation. Last year, this one-day event raised nearly $500,000 for the Arthritis Foundation.
Even if you aren’t located in the Dallas or Fort Worth areas, give your local Massage Envy a call to confirm participation and to book your appointment! One-hour massage sessions are $49.00 and one-hour facials are $59.00. $10.00 of each service will go to the Arthritis Foundation.
To make an appointment for the Healing Hands for Arthritis event in the DFW area, contact one of the 28 Dallas/Fort Worth Massage Envy locations at 214-556-2475. Reservations are being accepted on a first‐come, first‐serve basis. All proceeds donated during Healing Hands for Arthritis will support the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases.
Additionally, Murad®, Massage Envy Spa’s strategic skin care partner, will donate 10 percent of all sales from its products sold at Massage Envy Spa locations during the event to the Arthritis Foundation. Log on to www.massageenvy.com to find the nearest Massage Envy clinic. All clinics are open seven days a week.
Arthritis affects both young and old people and can be debilitating. Using massage therapy is one way to lessen the symptoms and offer relief. Did you know that young children can suffer the effects of arthritis, too? I did some research and was surprised to see how often it happens and impacts the young, and that there are actually different types of arthritis.
About The Arthritis Foundation
Striking one in every five adults and 300,000 children, arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability.
The Arthritis Foundation (Arthritis.org) is committed to raising awareness and reducing the impact of this
serious, painful and unacceptable disease, which can severely damage joints and rob people of living life
to its fullest. The foundation funds life-changing research that has restored mobility in patients for more
than six decades; fights for health care policies that improve the lives of millions who live with arthritis;
and partners with families to provide empowering programs and information.

Ramping is the most common way to address accessibility issues within the home. They are perfect for individuals using wheelchairs, scooters, or who simply struggle with stairs. Folding ramps provide a solid threshold over smaller steps or curbs. More substantial modular ramps are suggested for higher landings.
