Creepy recipes are so fun around Halloween, but I like to keep them EASY! This recipe for icky Halloween BLOODY Bones Bark is pretty simple to throw together and looks gloriously gross. My boys want me to make some to share with friends at a Halloween party so they can scare everyone by pretending to eat bloody bones in front of everybody.
Icky Halloween Bloody Bones Bark Recipe
You Will Need:
Vanilla Candiquik (affiliate link) or White Candy Melts
White Vanilla Chips
Lard (coconut oil will also work here)
Bloody Bone Sprinkles (affiliate link)
Red Food Dye
To Make:
-
Melt the Candiquik or Candy Melts in the microwave until smooth and free of lumps.
-
Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the melted Candiquik onto the parchment paper and spread with a spoon. Allow to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
-
Melt ½ cup of white vanilla chips on the stove over medium heat. Stirring constantly.
-
Add red food dye and a small amount of lard to the white vanilla chips. Continue to stir. Keep adding red food dye until your chips reach a dark red color. You will need to add more lard as the dye seizes up the chips. Once you’ve reached the color of blood, remove the chips from the stove.
-
Dip a spoon into the melted chips and fling it onto the white bark. Keep doing this until you’ve reached your desired look.
-
While the chips are still wet, add your bloody bone sprinkles. Note: If you are unable to find these exact sprinkles, any bone sprinkles would look great!
Are you totally grossed out? Trust me, everyone is going to LOVE this and ask you for your recipe. The thing I love about these sweet bark recipes are that you can really stretch them to serve many people with a single batch. Of course, you may need to make a few batches if you have a very large disgusting crowd to feed! 🙂
