I love natural health and beauty items. When I was selected to review products from Koru Naturals, I was happy to see what they had to offer. We got a bottle of Emu Oil and a set of 4 Pure Lanolin Lip Balms. Koru Naturals also sells a variety of items, including clay masks, soaps, manuka honey skin care, and a lot more.

Emu Oil
The Emu Oil comes in different sizes, ranging from 2 oz for $9.85 up to 8 oz for $32.40. I received the smallest size and found immediately that a little bit goes a long way.
I used the emu oil on my 2 year old’s mouth. He gets that horrible red, dry rash around his lips when the weather changes. Wouldn’t you know that our weather has been swinging wildly up and down over the past few weeks, so he had the most pitiful skin irritations. I applied a pea-sized drop of emu oil on his skin at night before bed and once in the morning. Within 24 hours, his face looked normal! I was relieved that the emu oil kept it from getting to the cracking, bleeding stage.
I love that this oil is pure and free of any additives. I also learned that it does not have preservatives, is hypoallergenic, and won’t clog pores. A lot of people use this as a hair treatment or in a warm bath to moisturize their skin. I think those ideas are great!
Another way we used the emu oil was as a carrier oil for essential oils. Most of the essential oils we use on a daily basis require a carrier oil, and this one seemed like a great one since it isn’t sticky or greasy. It worked very well and helped moisturize our feet in the process!
Pure Lanolin Lip Balms
I am a total lip balm addict. I have a small collection now, pared down quite a bit compared to my teen years! Nonetheless, you’ll never see me anywhere without a tube of lip balm. With our crazy weather, I’ve needed even more lip balm than usual to keep my own lips protected from the elements and the dry, winter air.
From Koru Naturals, we received a set of four .2oz lip balm tubes. This retails for $9.80 and can also be purchased in pots for the same price. The product is pure lanolin. It is free of dyes and there is no fragrance or flavor.
I used the lip balm before bed as my thick lip balm. That’s usually my routine – use the most emollient lip balm at night to hopefully wake up with baby soft lips in the morning. How did Koru Naturals stack up? The lanolin worked perfectly! I could still feel the product on my lips upon waking. That’s the sign of a very effective lip product as it obviously provided a long-lasting barrier and could heal all night long.
Since it is made of pure lanolin, this would be an excellent multi-use product. It is great to have on hand for on-the-go moisturization emergencies! As a breastfeeding mother, this would easily double up as a lip balm and nursing cream to help soothe sensitive skin. It is also great to use on cracked skin on the knuckles, the wind chapped skin of a baby or toddler (that is, if you don’t have your bottle of emu oil handy!), and it can help soothe callouses and other minor skin irritations. With it being in a tube, it’s perfect for sticking in your purse or diaper bag so it’s ready on the go.
We’ve really enjoyed using the natural products from Koru Naturals. I’m looking into purchasing their Great Barrier Manuka Honey Lip Balm next (I told you, I’m addicted!) and a Manuka Honey and Beer Everything Bar for my husband. They have tons of great products. I trust the quality of the items they carry based on what we got to try already.
