Looking for a toy that combines the challenge of a game and the educational aspect of a learning-based activities? Check out Word Whammer from LeapFrog!
As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I have had the pleasure of receiving some pretty awesome toys to test out and review. In our first shipment, we got Word Whammer. It is for kids aged 4 and up and retails for just $19.99.
There are 3 different games and 5 levels of play. It adapts as your child plays, making the game move right along with their ability level. This keeps it interesting and fun.
Both my 3 year old and my 6 year old have been enjoying this game. My 6 year old said he really enjoyed being able to practice his spelling. He’s been learning several words in his reading program with homeschool, so this was a unique opportunity to put his new skills to the test in a fun way.
Word Whammer is perfect for taking along if they’ll be stuck in the car or waiting for an appointment somewhere. It’s small and portable, runs on batteries, and is easy to turn on and off as needed.
My kids like to play it all the time, so you never know when you’ll hear the faint sounds coming from upstairs of one of them spinning, twisting, or tapping the handles to maneuver in their games.
I like that they’re getting an educational advantage by playing. They like that they can get physical with the easy-to-hold device. What’s more fun than getting to be “rough” with a toy? (Not much, if you ask my boys.)
Next time you’re looking for a solid gift idea for a kid in the preschool through early elementary age range, check out Word Whammer! It’s a great value for a unique twist on spelling.
