We got a really fun DVD in the mail to review today and my daughter was so excited about it when I opened up the package that she made me open it and stick it in the DVD player right away!
The DVD is called Meet the Fairies and it comes from Australia! How exciting that they’ve brought the show here, because Grace really enjoyed it! It runs about an hour long and my daughter even paused it to go to the bathroom and ran back quickly so she could resume playing it. All 3 kids were enchanted with it.
Even the inside of the DVD case is pretty as my 16 month old demonstrated while he was checking it out:
Here’s more info on the show:
The Fairies is an enchanting, magical fantasy, come to life in pretty shades of pink.
This live-action, musical series for preschoolers introduces two beautiful fairies, Harmony and Rhapsody. The Fairies explore Fairyland through play and adventure with their days full of magic, friends, giggles, singing and dancing and of course, fan-fairy-tastic fun!
Fairyland is just brimming full of fan-fairy-tastic friends, so dust off your wings, wave your wand, and start getting to know them a little better!
There’s the pretty purple fairy Harmony and her best friend, Rhapsody (who is always in pink)! Then we meet the yellow and black striped bee, Barnaby the Bizzy Buzzy Bee; their all-dancing, cake cooking friend, Elf the Fairy Cake Maker, and of course the ever perplexed Wizzy the Wizard (who never gets his spells right).
Friends drop in from time to time – we meet Bubbles the Beach Fairy and Twinkle the Tooth Fairy, and of course the Tots (young fairies and elves in training); Melody, Jingles, Treble, Acorn and Buttercup.
So many friends and so much fun in Fairyland!
Like I said, Grace really did enjoy watching it! Her favorite part had to do with a little baby fairy. What is with my child and babies? 🙂 Apparently this was my son’s favorite part, too, even though when I asked him what he thought of the show, he made this face:
However, I asked Grace what she thought, and she did this:
There are actors and actresses in this song-filled magical show and my kids actually really like that. It is a great way to foster the imagination, too.
I have a feeling that this is going to be in rotation from now on when the kiddos get a chance to sit and watch TV. I think I will also keep it around for occasions when Grace has friends over as it is geared to kids aged 2-5.
