With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I’ve started to shop and plan for our family feast. I was happy to find inexpensive ways to really spruce up the Thanksgiving Table, and I wanted to share my ideas and some inspiration for you as well. It is possible to make your celebration festive on a budget this year.

Sponsorship Disclosure: I received the items pictured from Oriental Trading in exchange for writing this blog post.
With 5 kids, I naturally started thinking about the kids table when imagining what our Thanksgiving spread should look like. Look at the cute Thanksgiving-themed placemats that they can color! I got a package of these to bring with us when we celebrate with our family so that my kids and their cousins have something fun to do while they wait on all of us old people to get the mean ready.
Some simple brown paper plates and festive Autumn foliage napkins are perfect for adding a little something special to the meal. For an even more special Thanksgiving table, I couldn’t resist getting the gold plastic forks, too. I know my kids are going to LOVE eating off of gold tableware. They come in a pack of 50, so we should have plenty, even though I’m sure they’ll all drop a few on the floor for me to clean up later! 😉

I was impressed to see that Oriental Trading had the little pumpkin set that is pictured above. They’re these resin pumpkins with wire vines and embossed metal leaves. I love that these pieces could be used all through September, October, and November. The “Carved” Thanksgiving Pumpkin Set will definitely be carefully packed away to reuse next fall, too.
I am constantly amazed to see what Oriental Trading is stocking for different holidays and occasions. For Thanksgiving, they have tableware, crafts, home decor, toys, serving bowls, utensils, candy, costumes, party favor bags and prizes, pencils, and so much more. It’s not all stuff for the kids table, either. Look what I found for the grown ups of the group.

Look at the great clear plastic serving bowls and serving utensils I found from Oriental Trading! I was drawn to these, because I’ll be able to reuse them for any occasion. They’re nice enough to use for a holiday meal and sturdy enough for frequent use during the week, as well.
I picked up some clear scissor tongs for salad, a clear serving spoons and forks set, a 24 ounce serving bowl, and a 5 quart serving bowl. It all matches, and since they’re clear, they’ll coordinate with ANY holiday or theme. I still can’t get over how affordable each of those items happened to be. I didn’t even realize Oriental Trading sold those, so I’ll be eyeballing a few more pieces for Christmas festivities for sure.
Another item that caught my eye was the fall leaves tablecloth roll. It comes on a roll folded in half, so the roll isn’t super long, making it easy to carry with you to your Thanksgiving destination. We are going to be renting a building and meeting our family there, so I thought this plastic tablecloth would be a good way to make sure no one ruined the provided tables, while also ensuring that we have a fall theme throughout the room!
I plan on laying this tablecloth out on the tables for decoration and easy clean up! Since the roll is 100 feet, it will cover many tables. I’ll just need to trim it to size, unfold it, and place it on the table top. Easy peasy.
One last thing I saw and knew I needed was this set of copper chevron dinner plates. They offer a little metallic shimmer with a classy design that pattern mixes well with my Autumn leaves. 🙂 This is perfect for the grown up table.
How do you decorate for your Thanksgiving meal?
Hopefully I’ve given you some new ideas, or have at least shown you that Oriental Trading has a huge variety of value-priced items for your Thanksgiving tables. There is a huge section of tableware, but don’t forget to check out their beautiful decorations as well.
I would love to hear about your Thanksgiving traditions and decor in the comments!
