Did you think I’d still be sitting around here, pregnant? 🙂 I did. I’ve been telling folks from the beginning that I expected to at least be here until my 39th week… and here I am!
Here’s a picture from Monday:
I am having constant false labor, it seems. I’m not too surprised – this happened with my last pregnancy, too! At my check last week (Thursday), I was 3cm and 70% effaced, which is way more information about my cervix than any non-spouse should know about a woman’s inner lady parts, but there ya go. I’m pregnant, so it’s fair game… right? lol
My chiropractor said that if I make it to 40 weeks, at my regular chiro appointment on Monday, she’ll work some other pressure points to see if we can get things moving along if I want. At this point, I’m definitely thinking that would be lovely.
Each night, I go to sleep semi-terrified of waking up in labor and feeling the need to push. You see, the hospital is around 20 minutes away during good traffic…. and my last labor from wake to push was only 3 hours long. The one before that was 5 hours. You see the pattern? I’m hoping to get a little extra time here!
These last few weeks have been sort of nice because I’ve been able to relax and do pretty much nothing. After MONTHS of being so busy I could hardly see straight, it’s been quite a relief to have no plans! Unfortunately, it also makes the time crawl by super slowly…
What are some of the things you did in your last week or two of pregnancy to help the time fly by?

39 weeks already! Woo! I stayed pregnant until 41 weeks and 3 days and to make the time go by I made plans to do something every single day even though I was extremely tired and ready to explode. Even if I just went grocery shopping for an hour or something.
Awww Jenn! I was wondering if you were still “here”. Well, it just means that baby hasn’t finished cooking yet. 🙂 Hang in there. :0)
During my last week(s) of pregnancy I think all I did was hang out on the couch or go for looooooooooong walks. Also, I did some hula hoop moves and pelvic tilts to try and get my hips limbered up. Not much else you can do at that point, ya know? You look like you have dropped so that is a good thing. Dilating is also VERY awesome. My doctor recommends taking Evening Primrose Oil too (yes, you are supposed to put it “up there” in the mornings and evenings. They say 6-8 capsules but I just do 1-2). That really helps the cervix to soften.
Hope that helps and can’t wait to read “that” post! 🙂
Praying for all to go well, but not to quick. 🙂
My “pregnancy advice” to you would be to enjoy every moment, every false labor pain, every kick…everything. I know when it was getting close to the end with my first three, I just wanted it over with. However, life experience has taught me that those pregnant moments are fleeting, and one day you may long for them again but them be no where within your grasp. Listen to your body. Trust your instincts. Enjoy your down time. That precious baby will be here soon enough. 🙂
