Yes, I know most of you read the title and are thinking, “Well of course it is, dummy!” I am not tired for the reasons you may think, though. I actually sleep very well at night (From around midnight or so until 8 or so) because Charlie only wakes to nurse a few times and I just roll over and feed him. Ah, the joys of cosleeping and nursing! 🙂 My other kids haven’t been TOO much trouble, either. They are almost completely able to ready themselves for the day and I am really only doing normal stuff like preparing meals, brushing the 2 year old’s teeth, changing diapers, nursing the baby, and occasionally getting some homeschool assignments in.
I think the thing that is most exhausting is mentally getting back into the real world. Even though I just had this new baby and am kind of bouncing back from it, life and its priorities have not lessened. We still have Girl Scouts, homeschool playgroup, classes, appointments, family commitments, and irresistible family friendly activities and events to attend. I have a hard time saying no and also TRY to stay busy so that my kids can benefit from being out of the house. YES, I get worn out… but it’s better than being stuck at home and blowing up at the kids because they are blowing up at each other and hitting and punching and screaming!
It’s a lot of fun being mom to 4 young, beautiful children. I am so proud of my sweet daughter, the eldest of the brood. She will be turning 7 (SEVEN!!!!!) this Thursday and has blown me away with her strength, intelligence, and independence. She is stunningly beautiful and (mostly) a joy to be around. My precious firstborn son is a curious, articulate, orderly, and sweet five year old. He saves his favorite food for last at dinner and wears certain clothes around certain friends to make them happy (he saves all Mario shirts for one of his friends because he LOVES Mario, for example!). My rambunctious 2 year old is a hurricane of activity, but is so loving and endearing. In one breath he might break the head off of a Barbie, punch his brother with his own toy, and then swoop in to hug and kiss his siblings while screaming martial arts sound effects. The sweet new baby is 2 and a half weeks old and is sweeter by the second. His skin is deliciously soft, his eyes are full of wonder and innocence, and he poops at least 15 times a day. The older siblings are smitten and of course his parents… well, we are in love with him too! I wonder what kind of personality this little sweetheart will have. 🙂
For those following the blog, I’m hoping to get my birth story from Charlie’s birth up as soon as I can finish polishing it up and uploading some accompanying videos, and I am hoping to vlog and introduce you all to my new little dude!

Being a mom to five myself, I totally get this post. :+) It is totally different when they are older, but lovely and beautiful too.
