Welcome to my Wordless Wednesday (yeah right!) post for this week. Warning – there are lots and lots of pics and they just ooze with a bunch of mommy pride…so… sorry (not sorry). 🙂
I’m so thankful that my hubby’s job has several fun events throughout the year that I get to enjoy! They usually have a family fun day in the summer, a walk for a cause in the fall, and then a great holiday party in December.
We were able to make it to last weekend’s family fun day, and my kids had a TOTAL blast! It was at Unity Park in Highland Village, TX. If you haven’t been to that park but live nearby, I totally recommend checking it out.

There’s Kid’s Kastle, which is a huge wooden play structure, TONS of benches and a covered pavilion, a smaller play structure with toddler-friendly slides and big kid monkey bars, a fishing pond, lots of sports fields, and more.

It has big, beautiful trees everywhere and was very comfortable to hang out in during the heat of the day.

My personal favorite part of this whole thing was that they had it catered by Babes Chicken, which is a MUST eat place in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Luckily they catered it at one of the newer locations, so they had the expanded menu of yummies available.
Even my little guy was loving it. He wanted quite a bit of this yummy banana pudding.

My daughter’s favorite part was that they set up a dunking booth! Employees were able to take turns purchasing balls to throw to dunk their coworkers and managers. The money went to charity.

After a while, they even took volunteers to be IN the dunking booth. My little girl volunteered RIGHT away!! She definitely had more fun than she thought she would at this family fun day!

Finally, they had a chance to go fishing in the fishing pond. This was awesome because the pond was loaded with fishies, eager to get hooked almost immediately. That suited the attention spans of my kids perfectly. We set the fish free since they were so little, but it was a really good experience for them. We never go fishing, so now they can quit moping around that they’ve never caught a fish…. ALL three of my big kids caught some today!

We had a great time! I can’t wait for another great day at a new park sometime soon. Within the Dallas / Fort Worth area, it won’t be hard to find new places to explore.

That is such a huge park! Looks like the kids had a great time. Also Babe’s Catering everything makes it even better.
