After going through the motions for a week or two, it’s easy to slip up and feel like you’ve totally messed up paleo eating altogether. Trust me, I know how hard it is to give up food from the SAD (Standard American Diet). Society certainly doesn’t make it easy.
Stop for a second and think about it, though. Look at our society – is that what you want for yourself? The average person pops all sorts of pills that are supposed to help alleviate or mask the symptoms of things that could be cured by changing their diets! They go out to eat, fill themselves up with empty foods, and usually have pretty low energy levels.
I’m guessing that you didn’t start this Paleo thing to fit in with regular society, so let’s dust off and get back into the game, shall we?
I Messed Up Paleo Eating
Hey, the first step is admitting it, right? I have a confession to make – I’ve messed up, too! It’s okay and even normal. You haven’t ruined everything and it’s still possible to feel the positive effects of paleo eating.
This is a huge change and there are many reasons folks slip up. I decided to make a vlog for you with some tips on how to get up and get back on track toward a healthy, nourishing, fulfilling lifestyle through clean, paleo eating.
So What Do You Think?
Will you get up and try again? Promise me, and yourself, right now that you are worth making changes to your diet. You are worth it. You deserve to feel better, look better, and be better. I know you can do this!
Let’s get a plan in place and keep on keepin’ on. Get rid of the junk and make a plan, because we’re on this ride and there’s no stopping us now. We’re 3 weeks into the challenge – just a few more days to go!
What advice do you have for someone struggling to stay on track?

Well, I totally bombed this month, for various reasons. That said, considering that I think it’s really a lifestyle change, I think “messing up” once in a while is inevitable, and should actually be allowed. I mean, it’s all about knowing what foods do what to your body and what you are willing to tolerate. But, I think the best way to stay on track is probably clearing your entire house of the junk, meal planning, and doing bulk prep on one day a week so things are ready to go. And maybe allow yourself to have the mess up outside of the house once in a while.

You’ve got it! It really is about a lifestyle change, and not a crash diet. 🙂 What small changes have you guys implemented since starting and looking into eating paleo?

I’ve heard of the paleo diet, but I have never personally tried it. I adhere to a strict vegetarian diet, and hoping to slowly transition into a vegan diet. 🙂

I tried the Paleo diet before and couldn’t do it…. I could give up carbs OR I could give up beans, but ask me to give up both and I was destined to fail. I agree that slipping up is normal and once you find a meal plan that suits your needs you just have to remember that to err is human and get back into it 🙂

Nothing wrong with not getting it right all the time! At least you’re trying!

🙂 Thanks, girl! Yes, it’s easy to wallow in the bad or the mistakes – but I find that it’s hard to really celebrate all of the GOOD. Time to focus on the positive. 🙂
