The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a world-class museum located right in the heart of Dallas, Texas. As homeschoolers, we’re thrilled to have such an awesome resource so close by. What’s more is that they bring in some awesome exhibits that you just don’t want to miss! One such exhibit is going on now through January 4, 2015 and is called 2theXtreme: MathAlive!

2theXtreme: MathAlive!
2theXtreme: MathAlive! allows you to snowboard through a mountain pass, master engineer a modern city, capture a picture of yourself at 360-degrees (and email a copy so you can show it off to your friends!), control Curiosity (NASA’s next Mars rover), jump into a binary dance party, and more! The exhibit brings math to life through fun activities that kids love, using video games, music, fashion, sports, music, and more. Everything is VERY hands on. The exhibition is presented nationally by Raytheon.

I know you’ve heard of STEM education before. That’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The MathAlive! exhibit hits on all of these. It is perfect for introducing kids to math and science. Once they’re hooked, the activities are there to engage them and foster a real love of learning while they are having FUN. Not only that, but it is presented in both English and Spanish.

*Thank you to the Perot Museum for inviting us to a Family Blogger event so we could try out the exhibition with our family and share with my readers!
2theXtreme: MathAlive! is free for Perot Museum members and is available at a surcharge for non-members, for a total admission cost of $21 for adults (18-64), $17 for youth (12-17) and seniors (65+), and $15 for children (2-11). Kiddos under 2 are free. Please note that parking is $8 per car and $3 for Museum members.
The Perot Museum is located at 2201 N. Field Street in Dallas, TX. For more information, visit perotmuseum.org or call 214-428-5555.

If you don’t win this time, don’t worry. I have another family 4 pack that I’ll be giving away in the near future to be used for the next exhibit they’ll be hosting, Sherlock Holmes (from 2/14/15-3/28/15).
