Boone Drake is a young police officer that seems to be living the American dream.  He has it all – a beautiful new family, a great career, good friends… he’s really livin’ the life!  Suddenly he loses all that is near and dear to him and has to choose his path in life and decide what path God wants him on.  He must learn to deal with bitterness, anger, and regret.
The Brotherhood (Precinct 11)
I enjoyed this book.  I have to admit that I read the first 100 pages in one sitting and couldn’t get it out of my mind!  It is a real page-turner and is an intense but relateable book.  I couldn’t wait to read what was going to happen next.  The characters really seem real and what happens to them really MATTERED to me as the reader!  I will certainly be checking out Jerry B. Jenkins’ other novels soon because I just loved the style of writing and how the story was woven together.
From this book, I will say that I have certainly been thinking about my own life and how I don’t want to take advantage of the time I have with my family.  I have also been thinking about my relationship with God and how I can show it more to others with my words and actions.  This book brings up many points that have me pondering them long after finishing the story.

About the Author

Jerry B. Jenkins, former vice president for publishing at Moody Bible Institute of Chicago and currently chairman of the board of trustees, is the author of more than 175 books, including the best-selling Left Behind series. Twenty of his books have reached the New York Times Best Sellers List (seven in the number-one spot) and have also appeared on the USA Today, Publishers Weekly, and Wall Street Journal best-seller lists. Desecration, book nine in the Left Behind series, was the best-selling book in the world in 2001. His books have sold nearly 70 million copies.

Also the former editor of Moody magazine, his writing has appeared in Time, Reader’s Digest, Parade, Guideposts, Christianity Today and dozens of other periodicals. He was featured on the cover of Newsweek magazine in 2004.

Jerry has been awarded four honorary doctorates. He and his wife, Dianna, have three grown sons and six grandchildren.
