The cold temperatures outside may be keeping kids indoors, but there are many activities to teach kids about winter that can be done inside. The following ideas are perfect for preschoolers and grade school children. They provide unique opportunities for children to learn about the world around them and can teach about animals, weather, the season of winter, and more. Try a few of these out and let me know what you think!
Activities to Teach Kids About Winter
I love all of the sensory bin and fine motor skill activities in this list. Your kids won’t realize how much they’re actually learning while having fun with these crafts, games, and experiments. They would be perfect for a small group or even daycare or preschool setting as well.

We just did an ice melt activity yesterday. I had frozen plastic dinosaurs into ice for us to break apart during the warmer months but I never got around to it. So I decided we could do it inside and add salt and other things to see how it effected the ice.
