I had the pleasure of going to a super event that Dallas Single Mom put together for bloggers and friends at Art in the Vine in Grapevine, Texas. It wasn’t free, but the prices for a private party were SO reasonable that I actually bought a gift certificate from her site to hold my own party soon!
Anyway, here are my pics from the experience. I thought it would be perfect for Wordless Wednesday. Of course, since you know me by now, you realize that it won’t really be wordless at all. 🙂

Obligatory Selfie before the real work began!

An actual blank canvas! So many possibilities…

So many choices…. what to paint? We took it to a vote! The middle pic won.

Getting started. I have to admit, the colors weirded me out and I felt a little intimidated! Was I ruining the whole darn thing with too much red? Too little blue? Only time would tell..

It’s starting to take shape…

I loved adding in some self-blended purple. My favorite is the top left corner. Yeah, that tiny little spot. 🙂

Almost done! So many different and contrasting colors. Mine looked SO different from the others, of course! A few more colors to go.

Here’s my final painting! She luckily gave us a permanent marker to do our signature with. I would never be coordinated enough to do that with paint and a brush. lol
What do you think? How did I do?
This was my first time going to an art studio like this. I’ve previously gone to pottery painting places, and I have done a painting experience similar to this with my Girl Scout service unit, but never in-studio!

This was such a fun time! I had no idea I could paint. She was so wonderful helping you learn painting techniques and how to load the paint on your brush! So much fun. This is on my todo list again!
