There are so many bible study programs out there that it is often hard to decide what to use. The biggest problem we’ve had so far is finding one that could be used for children on different levels and comprehension levels. I recently had the opportunity to review several items from Bible Study Guide for All Ages and feel like I’ve finally found the solution!

What We Received:
- Beginner Student Pages ($5.95 per booklet)
- Beginner Time Line ($24.95)
- Children’s Song CD Set ($19.95)
- Intermediate Student Pages ($5.95 per booklet)
- Bible Book Summary Cards ($24.95 per set of 66)
Beginner Level

The Beginner Student Pages and Beginner Time Line are for children aged 3-Kindergarten. I used them with my 3 year old and my 6 year old. The CD Set can be used for all ages.
Beginner Student Pages
We received the Beginner Level Student Pages for Unit 1, Quarter 1, which includes lessons 1 to 26. Each lesson is on a long sheet of paper, front and back. It’s in black and white and has fun pictures that kids are encouraged to color during the lesson.
Every lesson is broken down into sections:
- A large picture for them to color – This will correlate to the upcoming “Apply It!” section.
- Learn the Basics – This tells you what to review from the Beginner Time Line
- Sing and Remember – This section tells you books of the Bible to recite, which music to listen to from the Children’s Songs CD set.
- Get Active – In this section, there will be some sort of hands-on, practical application activity to help illustrate the lesson for the day and encourage critical thinking.
- Apply It! – This should be completed after the Discover the Bible section is completed so that the students have a good, basic understanding of the lesson. Students are given a verse from the Bible. Then, they can look at the large picture and listen to a scenario to determine how the person in the picture/story should react based on what the verse said in the Bible.
- Discover the Bible – On the reverse side of all of that is the full lesson. It gives a Bible passage for the students to listen to. There’s also a black and white comic-book style picture of the Bible reading, so they can visually follow along as well. Then there are several questions for them to answers and specific instructions for them to color things in the comic coloring section.
Beginner Time Line
The Beginner Time Line is a great way for kids to get a real grasp on when things occurred in the Bible. There are 34 full-color flashcards and each has a picture and a question about the picture to help teach children facts about the major people and events in the Bible. This is a terrific visual aid, and it is a way for them to visually and mentally organize what happened in the Bible. These are 8 1/2″ by 11″ flashcards, so they’re a great size for kids to see and use! See a sample here.
Children’s Songs CD Set
This 2 CD set includes 90 different songs. They are catchy and help to teach children stories from the Bible, passages, fun songs that remind me of church camp, as well as some hymns.
Intermediate Level

The Intermediate Student Pages are for grades 3 and 4, though I could see them being used with a mature 2nd grader with great reading skills, or for slightly older children. The Bible Book Summary Cards are for 1st grade level and up. They can be used as visual cues for younger kids, but it’s important to have some solid reading skills with them to use them to their full potential.
Intermediate Level Student Pages
We used Unit 1, Quarter 1, Lessons 1 to 26 in the Intermediate Level as well. These lessons are also on a page, front and back. There is understandably more in-depth questions, Bible study, and exercises at this level.
Sections included in each lesson:
- Remember It? This section tests students’ memories about various details relating to previous lessons. It’s great for long-term review!
- Memory Workout – This section contains drills to teach Bible information. A lot of this can incorporate songs from the CD set to help and this section will refer to the Bible Book Summary Cards.
- Guess What… – This section has historical information and definitions of words. After this, students should flip over to the Discover the Bible section.
- Time Line or Map – These sections are used to help students learn more about the Bible and to understand more concretely how events fit together and where they took place. These are great visual tools for learning.
- Get Active – Activities presented here are ways for kids to physically do something to reiterate what the lesson has taught. It’s a way to step back from the worksheet and get moving or sometimes collaborating with others.
- Apply It! – Now that students have learned the story and the lesson from the Bible, they get a chance to apply it to a real-life type of situation. Students are stretched and encouraged to decide how something should be handled according to the Bible and how they should act when presented with certain situations.
- Prayer List – There are a few lines here for students to list their prayer needs or ideas for easy reference.
- Discover the Bible – The Bible story is presented in this section with comic-book style pictures and an assigned passage. Instructions are given on how to fill in blanks, color the drawings, or add things to the drawing. It’s as though the students get to finish the comic based on what they know from the Bible story. I love how interactive it is, and fun, too!
Bible Book Summary Cards
These cards come in either 8 1/2″ x 11″ full-color cards, or you can purchase them as color-your-own 11″ x 14″ cards. We received the full color version. They include all 66 books of the Bible. One one side is a picture, and on the other is a summary sheet about that book of the Bible. It includes information about the book, takeaways that folks should get from reading it, and questions that the student could ask themselves or quiz each other on.

Our Thoughts
I normally do Bible study activities at bedtime, but with these, we chose to do them during the day. While they are very fun and easy to follow, they are more involved than simply reading a story and asking a few questions. I love that about this program!
It uses the New International Version of the Bible, but we also enjoyed being able to read from my son’s Common English Bible for another way to word it.
It was awesome to be able to let my children each do the same lesson at their own level. When my daughter was doing the Intermediate Level, my sons were able to learn the exact same things on the Beginner Level. They were able to work together on several parts, and then my daughter broke away and did more complex things in her own Study Guide. They even included a sheet with information on how to use Student Pages at home with multiple kids in different age levels. That made this a lot easier on me when we were first starting out.
Once we got the hang of it, lessons were easy to do together. Being able to blend kids together to work on the same lesson is essential in a big family, so this receives 2 thumbs up from me! I also love how affordable it is, and that the resources like the CD set, Summary Cards, and Time Line can be used over and over again with all of the different lessons.
I highly recommend Bible Study Guide for All Ages
If you’ve been looking for a great, interactive, hands-on, visual, physical, fun way to teach your kids the Bible, give this a shot! It’s inexpensive to get started and see how it works for your family. Not only that, but you’ll enjoy all of the time that your children will get to share doing their Bible studies together.
