I was recently invited to an event that was brand new to Dallas this year – The Biggest Baby Shower Ever by Big City Moms! From a quick browse on their website, I could tell that this was going to be an amazing night of vendors, samples, free gifts, and the chance to hear from some experts, too.
When I arrived at the Sixty Five Hundred in Dallas, I was a few minutes early and there was valet parking and a line of expectant parents, new parents with babies, and even some grandparents making their way in the door. WOW! By the way, this venue shares a building with TESLA. Awesome.
Once inside, I signed in and was given a map and schedule. This is when guests receive their Bingo cards, too, to collect for prizes and wristbands for those that have opted for the high-tiered tickets that come with awesome extras such as a bouncy seat or babywearing wrap.
There were dozens of amazing vendors. There were vendors there talking to families about monitors, baby sitting services, summer camps for older kids, baby food, the latest strollers, feeding supplies, clothing, doula services, lactation cookies, potty training helps, high chairs, and so much more.
Here’s a little sneak peek video I took to give you a bit more of an idea:
I wish that this had been around our area a few years ago when I was pregnant with my toddler! I am blown away at how innovative this industry is, and the technology and approach that companies are using now are different than 3 years ago when I was pregnant with him. I’m loving what I’m seeing and hope that many parents head to this event as it travels around the US to get a chance to see it first hand.
Most of the vendor booths had all or a large chunk of their product line available on-site to touch, feel, and try. I can’t tell you how many strollers I saw broken down and put back up.
There were moms trying on baby carriers, samples of baby foods, and packages of diapers open so we could tug and stretch and see how soft they were.
There were also PLENTY of snacks involved. They had a delicious berry lemonade and easy to grab and eat appetizers.
Not only that, but Sprinkles Cupcakes were there to provide some tasty dessert.
Just when I thought that I had seen it all, I realized that I hadn’t even made it to any of the speaking sessions. Not only did they have some great experts talking (Hello, Dr. Harvey Karp of “Happiest Baby” fame!), but they had AMAZING giveaways for the attendees as well.
One of my favorite little goodies was the wall of people writing notes to their babies. There was a lot of practical advice on there, but there were also very special and sweet notes. What a thoughtful idea.
My VERY favorite thing was the GOODY BAG. It was easily worth over $180 on its own, not to mention all of the free goodies and samples that I was able to grab from the different booths during the event itself.
They gave us the goody bag on our way out of the door, and when you see the size of this thing, you’ll understand why!
Yes, that huge white, pink, and black bag was STUFFED with goodies. The clear bag I’m holding was what I collected from the vendors, and the big box I’m holding was my 4moms bounceRoo bouncy seat gift. I’ll blog the contents of my goody bag soon, because I know you’re curious! It changes from event to event depending on the sponsors and such, but it’ll give you an idea of how AMAZING it is!
