Something sweet, creamy, and non-alcoholic for those hot days is this very cherry Shirley Temple float. With summer coming right up, you may want a fun and easy little treat to share with your kids or your mocktail crew, and this is it!
I remember seeing someone order a Shirley Temple when I was a kid at a Japanese restaurant and was intrigued. I didn’t realize kids could get fancy drinks like that at a restaurant! Thinking back, though, I was always concocting my own little creations, like red cream soda with milk or orange soda floats with vanilla ice cream.
This yummy float would be great with ice cream, or just make it as written for a delightful fancy drink that is yummy for anyone. I can totally picture enjoying this pool side with a good book and a floppy hat. I’m so there.
Very Cherry Shirley Temple Float Recipe
You will need:
6 – 8 oz Cherry 7-Up
6 Maraschino Cherries
1/2 – 1 tsp Cherry Syrup (you can use the “juice” from the maraschino cherries or even use a cherry extract here)
1 C Whipped Topping
1 Cherry Twizzler
1/2 tsp Sprinkles (pink or red work well here, and feel free to omit or add as many as you’d like!)
A fancy glass to serve it in (mason jars are fun!)
- Pour the soda into the glass and add 5 of your cherries and the cherry syrup. Stir.
- Top with whipped topping, and garnish with the Twizzler, placing it so one end reaches the bottom of the glass and the other end sticks out over the whipped cream.
- Add sprinkles to the top of the whipped cream and top with your final cherry. Enjoy!
This yummy drink would also work well for any party where you might want a pink drink. Also check out my pretty pink party punch recipe for another idea.
