Thanks to everyone for participating and reading along with my Fit for Five for the first and second weeks. This is the third and final week, so that I can focus on my upcoming July Paleo Challenge!
Reaching Goals Through Fitness FEELS Awesome
Have you been reaching your goals? Are you slimming down or getting stronger? How is your energy?
Hopefully you’ve been finding a way to sneak fitness in. Perhaps you’ve been less subtle and have been totally revamping your lifestyle and getting hardcore with your work outs. Either way, great job on making the choice to get fit to reach your goals.
I’ve Been Doing A Lot of WALKING!
Walking has been my number one workout. That and cleaning the house. I feel a lot stronger, even though my scale isn’t moving a whole lot. I know that eventually the weight will stabilize at a healthy place, but in the meantime I am starting to feel more fit and less tired all the time. That’s important considering the (lack of) quality sleep I have been getting lately.

How are you getting and staying fit this summer? Are you reaching your goals?

Hi – great idea- the simpler the better… my goal is to make sure I move each day. Some days- it is a full workout- other days it might be strolling around the golf course. I feel good when I move- it is fun. I try to focus on fun:)
I found I had to set myself a schedule. I don’t keep it 100% of the time, but it keeps me honest. I try to go to the gym 3 times a week and dance 3-4 nights a week (plus housework which really does get that heart rate going!). I do feel stronger, despite the fact that, as you said, the numbers on the scale aren’t moving much. I can also see a huge difference in my muscle tone which really makes me happy. The key really is to commit!
Each time you exercise, your muscles are trained with resistance, which helps them to grow strong and stable, allowing everyday movements and activities to be performed with less effort and for longer periods. As your body continues to grow stronger, more balanced and better coordinated through regular physical exercise, you will be able to move around with less stress on your joints and ligaments.
