For some reason, watches and other time pieces really bring out the sentimental side of me.  When I got an email from Jord asking if I would like to review one of their Wood Watches, I was immediately brought back to some of those memories.  The times before everyone checked their cell phone for the time. Earlier days of anticipation as I watched the second hand tick and the minute hands drag by so slowly as I eagerly awaited the magic hour to get there for something special.

I got to look through the Women’s Watches on the Jord website before selecting the special wood watch that I wanted to have delivered to my home.  I knew that this was going to be something truly special.  After much thought, I selected the Ely watch in Black.

Upon opening the package, you can see that great care was taken in every detail, down to the monogrammed wooden coin attached to it, the pillow the watch was placed upon, and the gorgeous wooden box.  My name starts with a J, so I have to say I was a little excited to see that monogrammed J everywhere. 🙂

I did order it to my size, but unfortunately, it was too snug to get it to shut properly.  I ended up adding a link to it.  There were 2, including the screws needed, in my package, so it was no big deal at all.  I had no experience in this, so I looked to Youtube for a tutorial and ended up with this one on how to add a link to a watch.

Next, I had to wind it up several times and had my husband set the time and date for me.  (You see, both of our love languages are Acts of Service, so he likes to show off and help me do things, and I love to have sweet little things like that done for me.  Awww.)

This watch is so comfortable to wear, and I love that it is made from real wood.  The color is obviously not really black, but it is a beautiful, deep brown and its face is black.  This makes it pretty much go with anything.

I love all of the little detailing on it that makes it so unique and special.  I’ve received so many compliments while wearing this out and about.

I have loved wearing it around town, whether I’m at the dentist, waiting on an oil change, or out and about with my kids.  I love the feeling of having a watch on my wrist.  It’s honestly been a while since I’ve regularly worn won.  As a child, I always had a watch on, so just the act of putting this baby on gives me the warm and fuzzies!  Isn’t it beautiful on?

I feel that this watch is elegant and beautiful, but it is also totally functional and versatile as well.
