Everybody keeps asking me how I like everything now that I have moved and have “settled in” at the new place.
Let me just stop you there and mention that we are in no way settled in! LOL I think I still have something like 1/3 of the unpacking left to do (Where did we get so many books and clothes?!) and it seems just about impossible to get on top of that in addition to regular chores. We have never ending laundry, toys cleanup (we don’t have a good system yet because we have boxes in the way… great! haha), and dishes. Sounds pretty normal, sure, but does your house resemble an episode of Hoarders after they’ve been cleaning for about 2 days? 😉
I’m liking it pretty well, though. I have started a local Meetup group for homeschoolers in the area. It’s a casual playgroup because there weren’t any close to me, so I decided it was my duty to make sure the kids and I had friends. We’ve had one meeting and I actually met 3 other parents with kids of similar ages to mine. Nice, nice…
I’m also loving that we moved from a smallish west Texas town that felt like we were on an island due to how isolated the community was….. to a community in DFW that is hustling and bustling with activities, places, people, and job diversity that goes well beyond OIL. It’s great!
The hubs is liking his job okay but it certainly isn’t as relaxed as his last one. The insurance is expensive and it sort of takes away the whole “big raise” part of this job – I mean almost to the penny…. BUT we’re here.
I’m hoping I make some more friends soon….I don’t have many and most live too far away to visit just whenever.
Anyway, that’s me! I am missing blogging terribly. I think I’m going to get back into it more regularly now. 🙂
