Okay, now… seriously! Before we moved, we had the older two kids in a room and Grace slept in a full bed, Michael slept in a twin… but they did “slumber party” quite a bit in each others’ beds… Anyway, Heath slept in my bed with me and DH because we thought it would be pointless to try and get him out of the cosleeping situation in the middle of a move… For a while, he did have a toddler bed.. but didn’t use it too much.
Once we moved into our rental, I immediately wanted to get the boys a bunk bed. My mom graciously gave us an additional twin mattress before we left and all we needed was the bunk! I got the bunk bed and the kids seemed excited about it…
We got it delivered and set up and I dragged the mattresses into it and got it all made up and ready to go…
Where have the kids been sleeping? Michael and Grace have been sleeping almost every night in Grace’s full bed. Heath has alternated between her bed and starting out being put to bed in his bed (by me – a good 15 minute ordeal… sigh) and then waking up in the middle of the night multiple times crying and me either going in there to comfort him and falling asleep in there (oh goody!) or him crying and opening his door and then my door and ending up in….my bed.
Tell me again….why did I buy 3 beds for the kids?

Because we all have high hopes that our children will be the perfect children and have perfect routines etc but in all reality they are all normal Kids that want to be secure and that is with a sibling or parent.

We just recently consolidated the three beds into two, because Hubs got a new bed for us. I got rid of the outgrown bunk beds and gave Abbey and Melody my queen size bed that has a nice, new mattress. A friend gave Tarja a twin bed, so we got rid of the toddler bed. Tarja either sleeps on the couch or squeezes in between her sisters. If she pops her head into my room and sees that her daddy has already left for work, she sneaks into my bed. I guess this is just the way it goes…
