An exciting thing happens when a movie comes out that the entire family can enjoy together.  Kids and adults get pulled into the same story and have a unique opportunity to talk about something that they both relate to!  Turbo is my current favorite new release for this very reason.

I have already watched Turbo with my kids twice this week.  The characters make me laugh, and I love how real the human characters are.  The snails….well, okay, so I don’t think real snails have little communities going on with all the little shenanigans happening beneath our noses.  I don’t know, though, I guess it’s possible. 🙂

Without giving too much away, I loved how the idea of an idol being disappointing in person was approached.  Essentially, the lesson of being the best you can be no matter what obstacles appear is prevalent throughout the movie.  It’s empowering to know that, even when something seems impossible, it just might not be.  It just might be possible to reach goals and achieve dreams that others said were too far-fetched.

After watching Turbo, I was left hopeful, happy, and inspired.  Yes, it’s a kid-friendly movie, but I really feel that it is a family movie first and foremost.
