I feel like I was so domestic this weekend! Friday, I made Ham & Cheese Brunch Squares and finally tried Monster Cookie Dough Dip. I signed up to be a consultant with The Pampered Chef a couple of weeks ago and had my first cooking show for some friends, so I wanted yummy things to serve, of course!
Hubs decided that after a day of watching the kids, he wanted to go out with his friends. That always makes me scramble for ways to entertain the kids by myself because that usually means he is gone from before dinner until past midnight. Yes, I do entertain the kids all week long during the day BUT on the weekend, my kids look forward to and expect to be able play video games with their dad all day long. I am not good at games at all and refuse to play or help them. I take that back, I will READ the text in the games. They especially like Paper Mario and I have a dramatic flair for reading the dialogue aloud. They love it.
ANYWAY, I didn’t feel like doing that Saturday night, so I got a cookie decorating kit that I’d picked up at Target earlier this week and let the kids have at it! I had leftover mini chocolate chips and mini M&Ms from the Monster dip, so they had all sorts of decorations.
My 3 year old used the majority of the included black icing packet which has been lovely to re-experience at every potty break since then. lol Hooray for being the official toddler butt wiper! 🙂
Last night, I decided to get even more crafty. I had also picked up some caramels and little apples on that Target trip. We decided to make some caramel apples. We STILL had mini-M&Ms, mini chocolate chips, and now some leftover sprinkles, so we dipped some of them in there.
I’m really feeling like I should get some kind of mom award or something. I didn’t lose my mind over the mess, either! Woohoo! Maybe this mom thing is getting easier. That’s good considering I’m 7+ years into it!
