Last week, I was invited to an awesome in-home event with Staci of 7 On A Shoestring. About a dozen local Dallas area bloggers got together to learn all about the brand new seat from Graco called the SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40. This seat is really neat! You’ve all seen the Graco “bucket seats” that folks use with their infants. If you’re like me, though, your baby usually outgrows the seat before the age of one by either growing tall or chubby at a fast pace. That is no longer an issue at all!

The new seat is designed for use from 4 to 40 pounds rear-facing to match the new recommendations by the AAP to keep kids rear-facing until age two. Did you know that kids are FIVE times safer in an automobile accident if they are rear-facing? We were able to get our hands on the carseat and try it out with babies of all sizes. My son 6 months old and is over 22 pounds. It was easy to adjust the straps and recline for him to make him comfortable. Staci also had a “preemie” baby doll that we played with in the seat, and she represents that four pound baby Graco mentions the seat being great for as well. The cushion inserts around the baby’s lap and head are removable, but they are especially useful for smaller babies and extra comfort.

The SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 comes in 2 different prints. The one you see here is the Mena™ print and is a very classy girl’s print. The gender neutral or more boyish print is called Moonstruck™ and is shown below. The seat retails for $219.99 exclusively at Babies”R”Us online and in store. The seat can be used the full 2 years with your child and would be a terrific hand-me-down as it does not expire for 7 years from manufacture so long as it has not been involved in any accidents. Not only that, but this seat is fully compatible with Click Connect™ strollers as well!
The base of the carseat has 8 different recline/base adjustment choices that are easy to use and allow more leg room for growing babies and toddlers. The base also has a little piece that comes up that can act as a foot rest for older children that will also help protect your vehicle’s seat from little kicky feet. My favorite feature is actually the one-handed adjustment of the headrest and harness with the Simply Safe Adjust™ harness system. This is particularly convenient and requires no re-threading. Finally!
