I was given the opportunity to view the e-book “Birth Movement” for free from the author, Jun-Nicole Matsushita in exchange for some publicity for the book. I am SO glad that I was able to do this!
The photos are WONDERFUL! They show the reader (in pictures and some text) how to use the squat bar, a birth sling, a birth ball, and regular hospital furniture to have a more active and comfortable labor in the hospital. If you are planning a no-intervention or low-intervention birth, it’s awesome! There are several things in this book I had never thought of or seen before, so I am obviously really impressed! I ofThe book is “An instructional book for pregnant women and their birth partners, doulas, midwives, nurses, childbirth educators, and obstetricians to learn how to use movement, positions and birth tools such as the birth sling, birth ball, and squat bar to support natural and low intervention childbirth in the hospital setting.”
ten let the ladies I help as a doula know that squat bars are available at the hospital, and this book gave me several NEW ideas of how to use it. Not only that, but this book’s photos are labelled to let the reader know if the positions are for labor or for pushing (or both) and if they could be used with an Epidural or narcotics.
You can purchase the book on Lulu.com or you can read more about it first from birthmovement.com. E-book and print book copies are available. I love the instant gratification of the e-book and will highly recommend it to my doula clients! I may also purchase a print version to add to my lending library as well!
