Introducing my newest challenge: Fit for Five. I am challenging you to work out 5 of the 7 days of the week – and then come back and tell me about it! Whether you play with the kids on the playground for 30 minutes, run for 10 minutes, or do a 90 minute workout video, it all counts!
For those of you that followed along with the Paleo Challenge last month, I decided to wait to start a new round until July. In the meantime, how about some fitness accountability?
I want you to reach your goals
The path to getting there is totally up to you! I’d love to hear about how you work out, when you work out, and why you work out, so please share. I am not advocating or advertising any workout methods, tools, products, or routines. This is all about reaching personal goals and getting to hang out with other people busy working on theirs, too.
I’ll be honest. Since going paleo back in January, I have been focusing solely on eating healthy foods and have completely neglected to workout and strengthen my body. That needs to change, and I’d much rather do this with a bunch of friends than on my own. (Won’t you please be my friend for the next couple of weeks?)
Fit for Five Details
I’ll post a wrap-up post every Sunday, so you can come back and comment to share your progress and success, as well as any set backs you may have had. I’d love for you to share your own challenge blog posts and I hope that everyone will check out the comments to follow along with others that are participating. Let’s make this a fun community of like-minded healthy people.
If you are a blogger, I’d love it if you would blog about your successes (and set backs) and link back. It’s not a requirement, but it would be fun for sure! Let me know you’re participating in the comments so I can check out your blog! I’m trying to get a fitness board going on my Pinterest page, and I’d love to pin some fitness inspiration. 🙂
Talk to Me:
What are your fitness goals? What do you do to work out? How often do you do it? Will you join me in this challenge?
Check back June 9th for the first wrap up post!

I have been working out for the last 7 weeks. I am trying to finally lose all of the baby fat on my body from pregnancies and also working on just getting healthy so I can run and play with my kids (and grandkids) for a long time. I’m currently strength training on Mondays and Fridays and running on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
That is AWESOME!! I desperately need to get on a good routine again. Yours is really inspiring me. 🙂 Do you run with a specific program (like c25k?) or have a set distance or time you usually go for?

I’m doing the C25k for the first time in my life.

That is so awesome!! I tried that once and ended up pregnant less than a month later. 😛

While I’m not ready to commit to 5 days, I appreciate this reminder to get moving. 🙂 I like your reminder that exercise isn’t just a workout class – even playing with your kids counts.

Hello, I am going to do my best to do this. I am trying to lose weight before my son begins school and before I begin my new business. I do play with my son. But I also walk at least 30 minutes a day. I am hopping to up it to a hour a day. 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. Who knows if I will lose weight but I am spending more time with my family as they walk with me. To me that is wonderful. I will share this with a friend and also on my blog which is MommiesPOV.com Have a great week and thanks for hosting this.
The walk with family sounds awesome!! That is a great idea. I should do it with my kiddos in the evenings before bed…. You know, after we slather on the bug spray! Darn Texas summers. 🙂

Alright you talked me into it! I need to be held accountable. Heck, I need a drill sergeant, LOL. But this’ll do. I’ll be active five days a week. Thank you for the boost!

Oooh, I’d love a drill sargeant! Sort of like I’d love to have a personal chef. 😉

Hi Jenn – well Im am always up for a challenge – I go the TRX 2x a week and PT 2x a week and got a new bike and love Koga and Spin Flex so I am IN. Also check out my blog called “Secrets of Fit and Healthy People” – I have a new guest every Monday. Maybe this will also give you some inspiration and my pinterest has oodles of things too you may like too. When does this challenge officially start?
I will definitely check into that! I love workout inspiration. 🙂
It starts whenever you’re ready! I’ll post again on June 9th to say how I did and see what others have done over the past week!

I like to run but I don’t always make it out the door. I need to make an effort to get out the door at least 5 days a week even if it’s just to take E on a walk. I was doing really well there for awhile. I’d go to the gym 3 days a week and a run 2 days a week. Or vice versa…it’s been awhile.

I need to get into a good routine, too! I’m easing back into it now. 🙂 Going on walks with your little one would be great.

No matter what your current weight, being active boosts high-density lipoprotein , or “good,” cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This one-two punch keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases. In fact, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, certain types of cancer, arthritis and falls.
