If you love handing out favor bags and parties and playdates, but you’re tired of the same old, same old, check out this new spin on party favor bags! This idea turns getting a goody bag into a fun party activity that will make everyone smile.
The idea is very simple. Instead of choosing a specific number and types of goodies and filling them all up the same, get creative!
Favor Bags, with a Twist
These goody bags will be less generic and more fun for everyone involved! The party guest gets to fill up their favor bag with a little bit of luck and a lot of customize choices!
- Decide what goodies you would like to offer, and number them in groups, 1-8. Be sure to have plenty of goodies on hand so that each guest is able to get a good amount. Just think, you can use any leftovers as goodies for the next party, a stocking or Easter basket stuffer, or as a giveaway at Halloween to the neighborhood kids.
- One at a time, each guest will spin the wheel to reveal which number they will land on. You may want each kid to go ahead and fill their bag all at once, or you might want each guest to take turns and get one goody at a time. It’s up to you! Try to make sure each guest gets at least 5 or 6 prizes.
- If you have lots leftover, consider allowing each guest to get a “bonus” goody from any of the number categories to round out their loot bag.
There are so many different things you could use as prizes. Oriental Trading sent me these goodies in exchange for this post. I’ve been ordering products from them since I was a kid, and I love the variety that they offer.
Pictured, you’ll see that we gave guests the choice of glitter sticky hands, neon monkey tattoos, monster tattoos, a choice from the stamper assortment, rubber duckies, superhero bookmarks, inflatable mini beach balls, and jumping spiders. Of course candy is always a popular option as well!
You can even get the Carnival Spinner Game very inexpensively on Oriental Trading’s website. It is MUCH higher quality than I was expecting and very sturdy. I’ve even used this outdoors and it resisted blowing over in a high wind situation and was able to withstand use by hundreds of kids.
Next time you’re planning a party, be sure to consider this new spin on party favor bags. It’s fun to fill up loot bags and it makes a good party game for guests of all ages.
