Wahoo!! It is DAY 1 of the Paleo Challenge!
Welcome, welcome, welcome to Day One of Jenn’s RAQ Paleo Challenge. If you are just joining us, I decided to put myself on a completely paleo diet for the month of May. I made the decision to go public and invite everyone wishing to make this positive change to follow along, share advice, give tips, and do this month-long challenge with their families as well. Eating healthy, nourishing food with every bite is such a wonderful goal. Let’s set out to achieve it this month, together.
No more excuses. Now is the time.
I’m sure you have questions
“What is Paleo?” or perhaps “How Do I Start?” or maybe even “Bottom Line – What Do I Have to Give Up?” No worries, I’ve covered all of that! 🙂 You can go ahead and get started right away.
The point here is to try out a new way of thinking about food and implementing it in your life for a single month. You can do anything for just one measly month, right?
Our biggest goal for today, day 1? Just get started!!!
Here are some grocery shopping tips:
I’m sure you’ll have MORE questions.
All you have to do is comment on any post and ask! Join the Jenn’s RAQ Paleo Challenge Facebook Group. Ask away. I’m sure that you’re not the only one thinking about it, so get it out there!
I would love to know what your goals are with your challenge. Are they:
- Weight Loss
- Reversing IBS
- Having More Energy
- Sleeping Better
- Clearing Up Troublesome Skin
- Teaching Better Habits to the Kids
- Conquering a Sweet Tooth
- Giving Up a Refined Carb/Processed Food Addiction
- Eating More Local or Organic Foods
- Looking Leaner
- Reducing the Risk of Diabetes or Obesity
Is your goal something totally different, or maybe a combination of some of these?
In the comments, share your top 3 reasons for going paleo this month.
Write out or print out your list and keep it visible. The refrigerator is a great spot, to remind yourself! Good luck and talk to you soon. 🙂

You are absolutely right, I had questions. 🙂 Interesting project, even for persons who are not on a diet. Reading about food alternatives is great. Thanks for the ideas. 🙂

I’m on a plan at the moment, 21lbs to go dum-de-dum-de-dum. So this is an interesting idea and will dip in to see how things are rocking 🙂

I’m kicking my butt back in gear! We’ve been Paleo/Primal since mid-December and have experienced wide ranging benefits, from weight loss to digestive relief to eczema clearing to more energy to better sleep… AMAZING. I love eating whole, real, natural, nutritious food that makes me feel great. We went on vacation last month and I could tell a difference in a matter of days of not eating Paleo; I was sluggish, tired, and my old skin and gastro issues resurfaced. Blah. I couldn’t wait to get back on program and this challenge couldn’t have come at a better time for me, so thanks Jenn!
I’m looking to lose another 30 pounds (am down 50 since spring 2011) and I’ve got two races (a 5K and a 5 mile) scheduled in June, so I’d love to tone up, slim down, and get faster, too. 🙂

I’m there with Paula (hi, Paula!!) in that thinking about alternatives is a good thing. Will you be posting recipes?
