Greenling #Giveaway Organic, Local Food Store (Delivered to Your DOOR!)

Our family is always looking for easy and inexpensive ways to incorporate more local and organic foods into our diets.  This is particularly true since we’re trying to eat more paleo these days!  There is a great online, full-service grocery store that is stocked with ONLY local or organic (or both!) food and they offered to let me try out their products a couple of weeks ago.  Introducing: Greenling.  There is no delivery fee, no subscription, and your order schedule is completely customizable.  Check out how it works.  They service Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and Central Texas (San Antonio/Austin).  Are you in those areas?  Oh, then you will want to read on!!!  I have a $35 Gift Certificate to give away, too!

How cool is it that I could just get my order in by Monday and noon and then receive my healthy goodies on Wednesday?  I ordered a local box and some Meal Kits and Grab & Go items, too.  I wanted to try a good variety.  Honestly, I wish I’d browsed around a bit more before hitting Order, because I have since noticed that they carry my most favorite coconut juice (with pulp!) for exactly the same price as I can pick it up at the grocery store down the street.

With Greenling.com, I could order it and have it delivered right to me instead!  That saves me all sorts of trouble considering I don’t have to load anyone up in the van to take them to the store.  Any busy mom knows what I’m talking about…. You have to make sure that everyone takes a potty break before you leave, all the kids have to gather their shoes and put them on.  Then you have to make sure everybody is buckled up and break up a The few verbal arguments.  Whew!  That’s all before you even leave the garage.  Seriously.  Greenling is genius.

The packaging for these deliveries rocks.  There were partially frozen water bottles as ice packs within a thermal cooler tote for my sides and meal kits.  My local box was surrounded by recyclable crinkly paper.  Everything was very fresh.  With the local box, the local veggies even still had a bit of dirt in the roots!  That’s fresh folks.  It really puts it from farm to table in a neat way.

The meal kits were packaged well and included the recipe and every ingredient, which was perfectly portioned out and easy to use.  This is a huge time saver for me, particularly with taking the work of chopping out of dinner prep.  That’s the most laborious task and the kits do it for me.  YES!  We immediately made the Spring Onion and Mushroom Frittata with Spring Mix Salad to go with some steaks that I’d purchased beforehand.  The only ingredients I needed were salt, pepper, and olive oil.  Everything else was there! 

It was absolutely delicious!  I ate the leftovers for breakfast the next day.  YUMMY!  The part I loved most was that it actually made me go out of my comfort zone to try something I wouldn’t have neccesarily have chosen off of Pinterest to make for my family.  However, I did try it and LOVED it!  I have the recipe now, too, so if I wanted to go to the trouble to prep it myself at a later time, I could!  This was a really delicious kit.

We also tried the Sausage Onion Hash with Greens.  That one was a hit, too.  It seemed too simple to be delicious, but it WORKED.  My husband raved about it and my kids enjoyed the sausage.  I felt great about it because the ingredients were all wholesome and delicious!

What can I say?  I’m seriously excited that I got to try this service.  I’m already browsing and building a cart for another delivery.
